There was a great fall of migrants at Chelsham on Monday (April 21st 2008) following overnight rain and I found 5 ring ouzels... A friend found a sixth one, you might like to see the picture as it's the smartest male I've personally ever seen. Brian T. Click here for more info from the RSPB site. |

I just wanted to share a bird image with you. An owl flew into our dining room window and this is the dust outline it made. Click on the image for a larger picture - it's a very clear outline! |

Your unusual garden bird, Theo, is a Violet Turaco, Musophaga violacea. It should be in the forests of West Africa and is an escaped cagebird. " It now comes to our garden nearly every day in the morning for breakfast... Cheerios and bread seem to be its favourite. It seems quite tame coming close to the house for its food." Theo; Kingston, Surrey. Jan 2007 Update: "Lord Lucan as he is now called has been taken up by Bird World. I managed to catch him and housed him in an empty shed which I decked out with perches, heating etc. The RSPCA found a new home at Bird World where there are two other Turacos, but other types. They are going to get him a mate. The story has a happy ending.... They will put a donation plaque on its cage." |
